Pastors at a Michigan church had a startling discovery Nov. 15, coming across a 10-point buck in their auditorium.

Perhaps the deer was seeking refuge indoors — Nov. 15 marked the beginning of Michigan’s deer hunting season.

“Oh my word! Oh my word,” Amanda Eicher could be heard saying as she entered the auditorium at Grace Christian Fellowship. “What is happening? That is a buck!”

The deer was first shown in the video jumping on the stairs against a wall before it reached the second level. After pacing back and forth upstairs, the buck made its way back downstairs.

“Yes!” Eicher shouted as the buck exited the same window it had entered.

Eicher later said in a Facebook post she was still in shock, adding that she was not expecting to see a buck after spotting the broken window.

“There was some damage to the building and our pastors are a little traumatized,” the church said in a Facebook post. “But the buck left strengthened in the Lord to go face his battles.”

Naturally, Facebook users had some fun commenting on the video.

“He went to get right with Jesus before facing opening day,” Yvonne Leonard said.

“He was trying to make it for yesterday’s service. Just running a little behind,” Caleb Bennett said.
