Janet Street Porter launches into “deeply shallow” Adele: “the more she springs, the less I like her”

The world might be anxiously awaiting Adele’s new album, but Janet Street Porter is one person who probably won’t be listening to her in a hurry.

The Loose Women panelist launched an astonishing attack on the beloved Easy On Me singer, calling her “deeply shallow”.

In a column for the MailOnline, Janet accused the star of “false misery”, of having “tears welling every hour” and of speaking about her personal life “to switch products”.

She also accused Adele of having gone from “a wealthy woman with a devoted and kind husband” to an “even richer woman ‘traumatized’ by a divorce she seems to have brought about”.

Janet wrote: “In the final countdown to Adele’s highly anticipated fourth album, the tidal wave of waffles and vultures shows no signs of backing down – Adele is everywhere, telling us about the ‘struggles’ that have taken place. triggered his songwriting. “

“Blah blah blah. Anything to change the product, ”she scoffed.

Janet lamented an apparent change in Adele from her previous career, where she said the star was “lovable, brash, boisterous, wildly enthusiastic”.

“Now she’s one of the most famous people in the world with a fortune of several million pounds, isn’t it time to button up, let the songs speak for themselves, spare us the ‘story, the intimate details of a failed marriage, especially when we only hear one side of the story? ”she said.

“My main beef with Adele is that the more she gushes, the less I like her.”

She then compared how singers like Betty Carter, Nina Simone and Annie Ross let their songs “do all the talking,” adding, “Sadly, the more Adele says, the more people realize that she is deeply shallow. “

Janet concluded by saying that she didn’t need to hear about Adele’s personal life, adding: “Less is more when it comes to Adele.”
