Four coronavirus patients die in North Lincolnshire hospitals

Four people with coronavirus have died in North Lincolnshire hospitals, the NHS has announced.

The deaths took place over the weekend in the largest single-day increase in Covid deaths for several months.

It comes out as coronavirus deaths have risen to the highest level in England since lockdown.

Two patients died on Saturday November 13 and two others died on Sunday November 14.

That takes the number of hospital deaths from the virus in our area to 523.

The number of patients treated with the coronavirus by the North Lincolnshire Hospital trust has increased to 52.

22 are in Diana Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby (with two in intensive care), 29 are in Scunthorpe General Hospital (with one in intensive care) and one in Goole.

The National Bureau of Statistics says the week ending November 5 was the worst for Covid deaths in England for more than six months.

995 deaths this week mentioned Covid-19 on the death certificate – about one in twelve of all deaths.

The last time it was this high was March 2021, when the country was still in solitary confinement.

The government has said it could adopt Plan B measures – including bringing facemasks back and telling people to work from home – if the NHS faces being overwhelmed this winter.

He will closely monitor Covid rates and hospitalizations over the next few weeks.

Covid cases in North East Lincolnshire over the past seven days have jumped 17 percent from the previous week.

The area’s average rate is now 429 cases per 100,000 people.

The rate in North Lincolnshire fell two percent to 361 per 100,000 population.
